Erich E. Schumacher, 83, of West Bend, died Monday, Sept. 6, 2004 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Milwaukee.
He was born on June 9, 1921 in the town of Fredonia to the late Louis and Laura (nee Jobs) Schumacher. On Jan. 11, 1944 he was united in marriage to Meta A. Barth in Crown Point, IN.
Erich was the owner and operator of Schumacher Landscaping in West Bend for 53 years. He served in the U.S. Army and also worked at the West Bend Aluminum Company for nearly 15 years. He loved ice-fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his wife, Meta; a son, Robert (Pamela) Schumacher of West Bend; two grandsons, Scott Schumacher and Jamie Schumacher, both of West Bend; two sisters, Ruth Bruhn and Clarissa Schumacher, both of Milwaukee; a sister-in-law, Ruth Richter of West Bend; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Lorina, Myrtle and Neoma; and two brothers, Arnold and Howard.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Sept. 9 at 7:00 p.m. at Myrhum - Patten Funeral & Cremation Service, West Bend, with Rev. Anna Lee Hisey Pierson officiating. Burial will be on Friday at 10:00 a.m. in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of services.
