Erna E. Wuensch, nee Rudolph, age 96, of West Bend, passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at the Samaritan Health Center in West Bend.
She was born on August 1, 1913, in Magdeburg, Germany to the late Max and Elsbeth (nee Braun) Rudolph. Erna came to the United States at the age of 10. On May 27, 1933, she was united in marriage to Ernst Wuensch and they moved back to Germany in 1935. Ernst preceded her in death in April of 1945. Erna moved back to the U.S. in 1948 and in 1956 she moved to California. She moved to West Bend in 1962 and then to Hartford in 1984. In 1993 she moved for the last time back to West Bend. Erna was a member of Calvary Assembly of God in West Bend.
She is survived by her son, Seigfried Wuensch of Mayville; a son-in-law, Fred (Nancy) Berndt of Hartford; nine grandchildren, Jim Berndt, Julie Berndt, Jason (Amy) Berndt, Matt Wuensch, Tony (Vanessa) Wuensch, Amy (Gary) Gehl, Scott (Lisa) Ziorgen, Michelle (Chad) Baumgartner, and Marie (Jamie) Petrakovitz; four great-grandchildren, Danielle, Alicia, Malachi, and Alex; a sister-in-law, Jane Rudolph; three nieces, Linda (Art) DeMangelaere, Kathy Rudolph and Dorothy Weber; other relatives and friends.
Erna was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Ruth Berndt; a grandson, Jeff Berndt; a great-granddaughter, Allison Berndt; and two brothers, Gerhardt (Ethel) Rudolph and Arthur Rudolph.
Funeral services in remembrance of Erna will be held on Monday, October 26 at 4:00 p.m. at the Myrhum~Patten Funeral Home, 1315 W. Washington Street, West Bend. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service and a reception will be held following the service. Cremation will take place at Myrhum- Patten Funeral & Cremations Service with inurnment to follow in Fillmore Union Cemetery.
