Erwin “Erv” G. Koepp Jr., 87, of Kewaskum, found peace on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at Kettle Moraine Gardens in Kewaskum.
He was born on July 23, 1936, to the late Erwin and Emily (nee Czarniewicz) Koepp, Sr. in Merton, WI. Erv began working at age 17 at a shoe factory. On July 9, 1955, he was united in marriage to Marilyn Scholtes at St. Kilian Catholic Church in Hartford. Erv then went on to work at Gehl Co., eventually getting the role of Service Manager of Gehl Worldwide. He worked there for 35 years until retirement. After that, he worked for Physicians Mutual in sales and received many rewards and trips. He enjoyed traveling to many places for work and leisure including Egypt, Europe, and Hawaii.
Erv was an avid sportsman who enjoyed fishing in Canada, Lake Erie, Lake Arrowhead, Lake Michigan, and Little Cedar Lake. He enjoyed many hunting trips out west and up north. Erv also enjoyed golfing at various courses in Wisconsin and Arizona, but his claim to fame was that he almost had a 300 bowling game if not for the faulty line buzzer.
He met two presidents in his lifetime, President Truman and Ford. He drove in President Ford’s motorcade from West Bend to Oshkosh. Erv played softball until he was 80 years old. He was a member and volunteer of many organizations over the years. Erv enjoyed living on Little Cedar Lake, spending time at his home near Lake Arrowhead, along with wintering at his home in Arizona. He especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends and will be missed by all who knew him.
Those Erv leaves behind to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 68 years, Marilyn Koepp; four children, Laurie (Steve) Justman, Sandy Discher, Kenneth (Linda) Koepp and Steve (Lisa) Koepp; 10 grandchildren, Amanda (Nick) Johanek, Ryan (Stephanie) Justman, Megan (Soren) Roethle, Lance (Danielle) Wiskirchen, Kyle (Alisha) Wiskirchen, Nolan (fiancé Tara) Koepp, Collin (Jessica) Koepp, Hannah (Ben) Landvatter, Madelyn (fiancé Ben) Koepp, and Zoe Koepp; 16 great-grandchildren, Ayanna, Keyon, Kaden, Kora, Anahlia, Brooklyn, Bella, Scarlet, Lilly, Ruby, Rick, Addison, Jack, Kinsley, Bryce, Ava and a great-grandson due in April; brother, Gerald “Jerry” (Helen) Koepp; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Erv was preceded in death by his parents, and son-in-law, Rick Discher.
