Estelle D. Sayre, nee Pelletier, age 84, of West Bend, passed away on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at Cedar Community.
She was born on September 6, 1925 in Pembroke, New Hampshire to the late Joseph and Germaine (nee Grandmaison) Pelletier. Estelle was raised in Pembroke and moved to Waukegan, Illinois around 1947. She was united in marriage to Matthew Kowalski. He preceded her in death on October 8, 1967. On February 8, 1969, Estelle was united in marriage to Clifford Sayre at the Great Lakes Chapel in Waukegan, Illinois. In 1979 they moved to Mountain Home, Arkansas before making West Bend, Wisconsin their home in 1986.
Estelle worked for Abbott Labs in North Chicago as a Return Goods Supervisor. She was a member of Calvary Assembly of God. She enjoyed crocheting, painting on glass and oils.
She is survived by her husband, Clifford Sayre of West Bend; her son, Richard Kowalski of Cedaredge, Co; three step-children, Dawn Gehrke of Rochester, NY, Lynn (Jack) Mjelde of Waukegan, IL and Clifford (Barbara) Sayre, Jr. of West Bend; seven grandchildren, Jeffrey (Paula) Mjelde, Denise Stollenwerk, Kristen (Derek) Hahn, Chad (Kaycee) Gehrke, Jon (fiancAC.e Victoria Benz) Gehrke, Adam (Nichole) Sayre and Anne (Aaron) Grundahl; nine great-grandchildren, Jake Mjelde, Alex Clark, Cheyenne Nichols, Morgan Stollenwerk, Kali Gehrke, Jacob Hahn, Noah Grundahl, Maya Gehrke and Charles Sayre; two sisters, Georgette Thomas and Pauline Bocash both of Hooksett, NH; one sister-in-law, Irene Pelletier of Waukegan, IL; many other relatives and friends.
Estelle was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Lucille Chevette; brother, Robert Pelletier; two brothers-law, Ralph Chevette and Lucien Bocash; and son-in-law, Kenneth Gehrke.
Funeral services in remembrance of Estelle will be held on Sunday, July 18th at 3:30 pm at the Chapel in Cedar Bay East with Rev. John Garcia of Calvary Assembly of God presiding. Visitation will be Sunday in the Chapel from 2:00 pm until the time of the service. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park in Libertyville, IL on Monday, July 19th at 11:00 am.
