Eugene Guenther

Eugene Guenther, 75, of the town of Scott, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 3, 2013, at Howard Young Medical Center in Woodruff.

He was born on February 4, 1938, in Sheboygan, the son of the late Erich and Adella (Schultz) Guenther, and on September 17, 1958, he was united in marriage to Judith Wagner at Immanuel Lutheran Church in the town of Scott.

Eugene was employed by the Gehl Company in West Bend, Ivars USA in Sheboygan, Fresh Flo and retired from Weasler's Engineering Inc. in Kewaskum after nine years of service. He was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in the town of Scott where he was an elder, usher and at one time served as the  financial secretary for the church. He was also an active member of the Beechwood Sportsmen's Club.

Eugene will fondly be remembered as one who enjoyed playing cards, deer hunting, spending time at the cabin up north, walking in the woods, harvesting and picking out hickory nuts. He will be deeply missed by his wife, his family and by all who knew him.

Those Eugene leaves behind to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 55 years, Judy; two sons, Andrew (Cris) Guenther of West Bend and David Guenther of Florida; a brother, Donald (Kay) Guenther of Arkansas; two sisters-in-law, Vivian Guenther of Plymouth and Janet (Jim) Krueger of Fond du Lac, four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Eugene was preceded in death by two sons, John and Allan Guenther; a brother, Spencer "Spinny" Guenther; a sister, Marian (Gerhardt) Krahn and a sister-in-law, Arlene (Lester) Stern.

Funeral services for Eugene were held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, October 7, 2013, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in the town of Scott. Rev Kurt Ziemann officiated and burial followed in the church cemetery.

The Guenther family greeted relatives and friends at the church on Monday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of services.

The Miller Funeral Home in Kewaskum was entrusted with Eugene's arrangements.
