Eugene spent his working years as a truck driver for a variety of companies.   In his retirement he was a crossing guard for the city of West Bend.  Eugene enjoyed spending his free time bowling, fishing, hunting, camping and traveling.  His greatest joys came from helping on the farm especially when riding a John Deere tractor and spending time with his girls and his grandsons.

Those Eugene leaves behind to cherish his memory include two children, Sandy (Jim) Gerlach of Kewaskum and Jacqueline (Scott) Zellmer of Richfield; four grandsons, John Gerlach and Douglas Gerlach both of Kewaskum, Michael (Ariel) Zellmer of Montello and Dan Zellmer of Richfield; a great-grandson, Hunter Zellmer;  two sisters, Dolores Bresson and Evelyn (Dean) Mueller both of Hartford; a sister-in-law, Fran Wiedmeyer of Richfield; special friend, Lillian, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents and wife, Eugene was preceded in death by three brothers, Hank (Florence) Wiedmeyer, Ed (Hazel) Wiedmeyer and Jim Wiedmeyer and a brother-in-law, Cyril Bresson.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Eugene will be held on Thursday, October 8, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. at St Therese Chapel in Hubertus.  Father Fred Alexander will officiate and entombment will follow at Shrine of Rest Mausoleum in Fond du Lac.

The Wiedmeyer family will greet relatives and friends on Wednesday at the Miller Funeral Home in Kewaskum from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m.  Visitation will continue at the church on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
