Eugenia V. Soyk

Eugenia V. Soyk, nee Rohlinger, 84, of West Bend, passed away Monday, June 9, 2008 at the Hartford Aurora Medical Center.

She was born on March 26, 1924 in the town of Addison to the late Arnold and Marie (nee Christ) Rohlinger. She was united in marriage to Norman Soyk on October 10, 1959 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Allenton.

Eugenia worked at Amity Leather for 12 years before her son was born. She loved baking and was known for her Butter Horns and "Gena Bars." She also enjoyed playing cards and Bingo and she was a huge Chicago Cubs fan.

Eugenia was very generous and always thought of others before herself. She would do anything for anybody and she always had a kind word and a smile.

She is survived by her husband, Norman; a son Gary (Jean) Soyk of West Bend; two grandchildren, Amber and Trevor; her twin brother, Eugene (Rosemary) Rohlinger of West Bend; two sisters-in-law, Alice Arndt of Slinger, and Myrtle Hassinger of Slinger; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Johnston; and two brothers, Clem Rohlinger and Fr. Joe Rohlinger.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 12 at 7:00 p.m. at the Myrhum - Patten Funeral Home, 1315 W. Washington St., West Bend. Fr. Rick Wendell of Holy Angels Catholic Church will officiate and burial will be in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend, on Friday at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until the time of service.
