Evelyn L. Oppermann, of the town of Auburn, passed away on Wednesday, March 7, 2012, at Kathy Hospice in the town of Polk.
She was born on April 30, 1920, in the town of Auburn, the daughter of the late Henry and Alma (Gatzke) Butzke, and on May 25, 1940, she was united in marriage to Wilson Oppermann at St. John Lutheran Church in New Fane. Wilson preceded Evelyn in death on July 13, 1989.
Evelyn was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in New Fane and was a Sunday school teacher.
Those Evelyn leaves behind to cherish her memory include five children, Wayne (Carol) Oppermann, Dennis (Joan) Oppermann, Mark (Gail) Oppermann all of Campbellsport, Alan (Debi) Oppermann of West Bend and Sharon (James) Sabish of Chilton; two sisters-in-law, Athleen Butzke of rural Campbellsport and Virginia Oppermann of Kewaskum, nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by a son, Myron; two brothers, Melvin and Glenn (Nila) Butzke; a sister, Verna (Henry) Oppermann and a granddaughter, Michelle Sabish.
Funeral services for Evelyn were held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 10, 2012, at St. John Lutheran Church, N665 Highway S in New Fane. Rev. Mark Eckert officiated and burial followed in the church cemetery.
Relatives and friends called at the church on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services.
