Evelyne J. Burbey, (nee Sauermilch), of West Bend, surrounded by her loving family, went home to be with her husband Frank on Saturday October 22, 2011 at the age of 77.
Evelyne was born on September 3, 1934 on the family farm in Newton to the late Fred and Mary (nee Wiegand) Sauermilch. She was united in marriage to Frank Burbey Jr. on June 11, 1955 at Evangelical Lutheran Church in Milwaukee. Along with being a loving wife and mother, Evelyne also worked for the public school systems of Milwaukee and Brown Deer.
Evelyne is survived by her loving children, Frank Burbey III of Cedarburg, Mark (Sharon) Burbey of Brookfield, Joanne (Alan) Miller of West Bend, Tom (Jill) Burbey of Acworth, GA; ten grandchildren, Mike (Chrissy), Lisa (Chuck), Allen, Connie (Todd), Krystal (Chris), Trissa (Brian), Kelly, Bryan, Angela, and Ted; 9 great-grandchildren, Mason, Matthew, Preston, Noah, Cayla, Cameren, Brooklyn, Hunter, Tyler; a great-granddaughter on the way. She is further survived by a brother, Edward (Betty) Sauer; sisters-in-law, Elsie and Janet Sauer; brothers-in-law, Richard (Rosie) Miller, and David (Kathleen) Miller; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Evelyne was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; her parents; parents-in-law, Frank Burbey, Sr. and Esther Sittmann; sisters, Marie (Lawrence), Emily (Ed), Leah (Ray), and Emma (Stanley); and brothers, Fritz (Loraine), John (Ruth), Hank (Grace), and Otto.
Funeral Services in honor of Evelyne will be held on Tuesday October 25th at 1:00 pm at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home (1315 W. Washington St. West Bend, WI 53095). Rev. James Booker will officiate and burial will follow in Washington County Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Tuesday at the funeral home from 10:00 am until the time of service.
Memorials to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Herdrich and his staff at the West Bend Clinic as well as the staff of St. Joseph's Hospital and the Kathy Hospice for all of the loving care given to their mother.
