Everett N. Anderson, age 95, of West Bend, passed away Thursday July 3, 2014 at his home.
He was born on January 7, 1919 in Manistique, MI to the late Oscar and Violet (nee Moberg) Anderson. After graduating from high school Everett worked in the Manistique bank until enlisting in the U.S. Army during WW II. He served honorably in the Pacific Theater, earning the rank of Major.
After his discharge Everett became employed as a sales executive for the Brown & Bigelow Company out of St. Paul, MN. selling advertising and promotional products to many companies. Everett was well known for his tag line "Your Friend with the Red Tie."
While in the Army he had met the love of his life, Earlene Robbins, and they were united in marriage on January 27, 1946 in Quincy, FL. They resided in Manistique, MI until moving to West Bend in 1955.
Everett faithfully attended First Baptist Church in West Bend, and led a home Bible study class for over 40 years. He was a past commander of VFW Post 4420 in Manistique, MI. He liked to hunt and fish at his cabin near Minocqua. Everett also enjoyed woodworking, especially making toys for his grandchildren. In his younger days he would write poetry.
He is survived by seven children, Dale (Margaret) Anderson of Osseo, MN, Rev. Edwin (Virginia) Anderson of Omaha, NE, David (Gail) Anderson of Champlin, MN, Gail Anderson of West Bend, Elaine (Mike) Fleetwood of Indianapolis, IN, Ronald (Jean) Anderson of Tupelo, MS, and Robert (Janice Kay) Anderson of Pleasant Hill, MO; 24 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister, Linnea (Fred) Melius of Slinger; a brother, Birger Anderson of Tallahassee, FL; a sister-in-law, Lila Anderson of West Bend; three brothers-in-law, Ed (Eleanor) Robbins Jr. of Davison, MI, Bob Robbins of St. Louis, MO, and Fred (Ruth) Robbins of St. Louis, MO; Other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; His wife Earlene in 2006; three brothers, Verner Anderson and his wife Helen, Mauritz Anderson, and Roy Anderson; a sister-in-law, Lula Anderson.
Funeral services in remembrance of Everett will be held on Friday, July 11th at 11:00 am at the Myrhum ~ Patten Funeral Home (1315 W. Washington St.) West Bend. Rev. Edwin Anderson and Rev. Bruce Dunford will co-officiate. Burial with military honors will follow in Washington County Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday from 9:00 am until the time of service.
