Floretta C. Brunner, nee Maurer, 90, of West Bend, passed away Thursday, June 19, 2008 at her residence in Cedar Bay West at the Cedar Community, West Bend.

She was born on May 24, 1918 in West Bend to the late Charles and Mathilda (nee Marx) Maurer. Floretta married Leo Brunner on June 16, 1951 at Immanuel United Church of Christ in West Bend. Leo passed away December 25, 2000.

Floretta worked at Amity Leather for 44 years. She and her husband also operated Brunner's Orchard for over 50 years which included apples, raspberries, and the area's first "pick your own" strawberries.

She was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ, West Bend, for many years. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, word search puzzles, and going on group trips.

She is survived by a son, Donald (Phyllis) Maurer of West Bend and their children, Eileen Hanrahan of West Bend, Lori Maurer of West Bend, Terry Maurer of West Bend, Gary (Amy) Maurer of Kewaskum, and Kevin (fiancAC.e Sharon) Maurer of Port Washington; step-daughter, Beverly (Ray) Ertl of West Bend and their children, Susan Spencer of Orange Grove, TX, Mark Ertl of Muskego, Michael Ertl of West Bend, and Sharon (Michael) Mouradian of Slinger; a sister, Ruth (special friend Ed Stern) Raether of West Bend; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Marie Berres, and a brother, Lee Maurer

Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 23 at 7:00 p.m. at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, 1315 W. Washington St., West Bend. Rev. Rich Vincent will officiate and burial will be in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend, on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service.
