Florian "Jack" Piaszak

October 18, 1937 — August 30, 2012

Florian "Jack" Piaszak, 74, of Hubertus, was unexpectedly called Home by the Lord on Thursday, Aug. 30, 2012.

He was born on October 18, 1937 in Wausau to the late Anton and Monica (nee Suchomski) Piaszak. On July 29, 1961 Jack was united in marriage to Geraldine "Jeri" Pohl.

After serving in the U.S. Army, Jack was employed at American Motors in Milwaukee. He then owned and operated the Mayfair Enco service station in Milwaukee. He also worked as a salesman for both Goodyear and Creative Marketing for many years. He later owned and operated Jack's Mobil Service in Milwaukee, until retiring in 1997. Even after retiring, Jack just couldn't be idle and continued to work odd jobs including Bauer Built, Do-It-Best Hardware and Piggly Wiggly.

He was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Parish in Hubertus, the Fohl-American Legion Post #483 in Allenton and the West Bend Moose Lodge #1398.

Jack was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. After 51 years of marriage, Jack and Jeri were life-long best friends who did EVERYTHING together. His family always came first. His favorite past times were riding his golf cart with his constant companion, his dog Jazzy, relaxing on his pontoon boat, shopping at Menards, and playing Hearts on his laptop. He had a bucket list of things he wanted to accomplish in life and he successfully achieved many of them. Jack had a personality everyone loved. He was known for his sense of humor, yet he was serious, caring, and sensitive and he loved being surrounded by family and friends. He was the life of every party. Being the giving and caring man Jack was, he donated bone marrow to a young girl in California and through Jack's Mobil Service ran many benefits for the MACC Fund for childhood cancer.

He is survived by his loving wife, Geraldine "Jeri"; three daughters, Jody Zuraw of West Bend, Wendy (Duane) Mantz of Hartford, and Kim Anderson of Brookfield; seven grandchildren, Andy Zuraw, Jamie Zuraw, Stephanie Mantz, Justin Mantz, Sara Anderson, Abbie Anderson, and Ian Anderson; brother and sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Cindy Piaszak; his parents Anton and Monica Piaszak; his in-laws Robert and Virginia Pohl; two sisters, Lorraine Muth and Dolores Coakley; two brothers-in-law, George Muth and Allen Roser; and nephew, Jeffrey Muth.

Funeral services in remembrance of Jack will be held on Wednesday, September 5 with a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 p.m. at St. Gabriel Catholic Parish, 1200 St. Gabriel Way, Hubertus. Visitation will be at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of the Mass.
