Floyd J. "Fuzzy" Dreher, age 78, of West Bend, went to his eternal rest on Tuesday May 13, 2014 at his home with his family beside him.
He was born on May 28, 1935 in Kewaskum to the late Edward and Irene (nee Uelman) Dreher. He graduated from Kewaskum High School in the class of 1953, and then served honorable in the U.S. Army. On November 26, 1961 Fuzzy was united in marriage to Judith Lehmann at St. Mary's Immaculate Conception Church in West Bend.
Fuzzy was a roofer by trade, working for Haug & Sons Roofing in his early days and finishing his career in 2010 as a salesman for Dehling - Voight.
Fuzzy's pride and joy was his cottage on Pelican Lake where he spent many of his days trying to catch every fish in the lake. Many memorable times were had by all up at the cottage. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, making wine, picking mushrooms and ginseng, BBQ outings, and Friday night sheepshead with his family and friends. He also enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. Fuzzy was a member of the Robert G. Romaine American Legion Post # 384 in Kewaskum.
He is survived by four children, Jeffrey (Brenda) Dreher of West Bend, Lorie (Todd) Van Langen of West Bend, Debra (Brent) Draheim of Shawano, and Tom Dreher of West Bend; seven grandchildren, Stacy Van Langen (partner Jamie Sabo), Amber Van Langen, Chad (Elizabeth) Enright, Cody (special friend Krystal Brackmann) Enright, Tanner Dreher, Braydee Dreher, and Colton Dreher; two sisters, Joan Staehler of Kewaskum, and Janet (Tom) Spartz of Kewaskum; three brothers, Ed (Ramona) Dreher of Illinois, Richard Dreher of Kewaskum, and Gerald (special friend Carol Aupperle) Dreher of St. Michael's; three sisters-in-law, Joann (Lawrence) Nischke of West Bend, Sandy (Tom) Zernia, and Shirley Dreher of West Bend; other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Irene Dreher; parents-in-law, Joe and Norma Lehmann; wife, Judith; son James; brothers, Alan and Merlin; and a sister-in-law, Carol Dreher.
Funeral services in remembrance of Floyd will be held on Friday May 16th at 7:00 pm at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home (1315 W. Washington St.) West Bend. Deacon Ron Schneider of St. Frances Cabrini Church will officiate. Visitation will be at the funeral home Friday from 4:00 pm until the time of service. Burial with military honors will be Saturday at 10:00 am in St. Mary's Cemetery. Memorials to the American Cancer Society are appreciated.
