Fortuna M. Stoltzmann

January 16, 1915 — May 20, 2006

Fortuna M. Stoltzmann, age 91, of Kewaskum, passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2006 at Park View Health Center in Oshkosh.

She was born on January 16, 1915 in Potter, the daughter of the late Andrew and Augusta (Plapper) Greve, and on November 26, 1936, she was united in marriage to Lester Stoltzmann at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Hilbert. During her younger years, Fortuna was an active member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church choir and the Ladies Aid. The couple operated the Wisconsin Cheese House in Hilbert. Her husband preceded her in death on November 6, 1990.

Fortuna was a member of St. Lucas Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kewaskum and the Ladies Aid. She faithfully supported St. Lucas Lutheran School, where she volunteered in the library. Her family and church were very dear to her.


Survivors include her son, Kenneth (Paulette) Stoltzmann of Neenah; her daughter-in-law, Bonnie Stoltzmann of Kewaskum; five grandchildren, Scott (Terri Lee) Stoltzmann, Paul Stoltzmann (fiancée, Nicky Galante), Sue (Phillip) Fellenz, Erin (James) Roberts and Caitlin Stoltzmann (fiancé, Dr. David Groteluschen); seven great-grandchildren, Fredrick, Terrina, Donaven and Veronica Fellenz, T.J. Marker, Luke Stoltzmann and Grace Elizabeth Roberts, other relatives and friends.

She was also preceded in death by her son, Robert Stoltzmann, her great-grandson, Andrew Phillip Fellenz, her brother, Herman Greve and her sister, Zipora Hernke.

Fortuna’s funeral service was held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 24, 2006 at St. Lucas Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1417 Parkview Drive, Kewaskum. Rev. Edwin Fredrich officiated and burial was at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday in St. Peter’s Lutheran Church Cemetery in Hilbert.

Relatives and friends called on Wednesday at the church from 4:00 p.m. until the time of services.
