Frances L. Emmer, 79, of the town of Lomira, passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2011, at her home after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born on February 27, 1932, in Beaver Dam, the daughter of the late Aloysius and Lydia (Haider) Budde, and on May 5, 1956, she was united in marriage to her “sweetheart” Edward “Eddie” Emmer in Beaver Dam. After their marriage, they moved to Lomira where she worked first of all being a wonderful caring and supportive wife and mother.

She was employed at Club 49 and then for many years as a banker at Brownsville State Bank, Valley Bank-M&I Bank, Piggly Wiggly and Nolan’s Livestock. Frances was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lomira.

Frances is further survived by two sisters, Caroline Patterson and Mary Budde both of Beaver Dam; two brothers, Al (Loretta) Budde of Beaver Dam and Carl (Joyce) Budde of Waukesha; four sisters-in-law, Florence Emmer of Fond du Lac, Rosie (Lloyd) Westerman of Kewaskum, Kathleen (Don) Gunderson of Lomira and Valeria (James) Becker of Campbellsport; a brother-in-law, Robert (Rosalyn) Emmer of Fond du Lac; special nephews that she considered her own, John (Joanne) Zehren, Jake, Nick and Mark Zehren, numerous other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Frances was held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 19, 2011, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 699 Milwaukee Street in Lomira. Father Dennis Budka officiated and entombment followed at Shrine of Rest Mausoleum in Fond du Lac.

Relatives and friends called on Friday at the Kietzer-Miller Funeral Home, 350 Main Street in Lomira from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
