Frances Mae Zier, (nee Faber) age 82, of West Bend, passed away at home on Monday, October 26, 2009.
She was born on October 25, 1927 in West Bend to the late John and Emma (Nee Remmel) Faber. In September of 1968, Frances was united in marriage to Robert Zier at Good Shepherd Ev. Lutheran Church in West Bend.
She worked at Fay's Restaurant in downtown West Bend as a waitress before she began to work at the Amity Leather Company. A few years later she began working for the West Bend Daily News stuffing papers a few days a week with some friends. Frances was active in the Wisconsin Electric Ladies League when the Electric Company was located in West Bend's downtown area. She was a meticulous house keeper, enjoyed touring the country in her RV as well as boating. Frances was a wonderful hostess and loved to entertain especially during the holidays.
She is survived by her husband, Robert; five children, Frank L. Alliet, Jr. of Appleton, Peggy (Neil) Gonwa-Marquardt of West Bend, Donna Alliet of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, Cheryl Koenig of Niceville, FL, and Linda Alliet of Neenah; 16 grandchildren, David Alliet, Andrew Alliet, Mark Alliet, Gwendolynn Gonwa, Bobby Hug, Mary Hug, Bonnie Hug, Loren Alliet, Jesse (Karina) Koenig, Derek Koenig, Mitchell Koenig, Jamie (Kathy) Thomack, Jenny (Pete) Thomack, Ben Thomack, Jacob Thomack, and Jared Alliet; nine great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Alice (Jim) Hacker and Florence (Harold) Kutz; four brothers, Ralph (Arnita) Schellenberg, Walter (Pearl) Faber, Lloyd (Bernice) Faber, and Robert Faber.
Funeral Services in remembrance of Frances will be held on Saturday October 31st at 3:00 pm at the Myrhum~Patten Funeral Home, 1315 W. Washington Street, West Bend. Rev. John Paustian of Good Shepherd Ev. Lutheran Church will officiate. Visitation will be Saturday at the funeral home from 1:00 pm until the time of the service. Inurnment will be in Washington County Memorial Park.
