Fred DelaCruz, 68, of the town of Rubicon, formerly of Jackson, passed away Saturday, January 30, 2010 at his residence.
He was born May 31, 1941 in Germany to the late Rufino and Marie (nee Hamburger) DelaCruz. He married Mary Lou Handel on June 10, 1972 in Santa Barbara, CA. Mary Lou passed away March 26, 2001.
Fred was employed at Seneca Canning in Jackson for many years, retiring in 2002. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Jackson. Fred loved car racing, tractor pulls, ice fishing, and football.
He is survived by his "adopted family" Rod and Terry Legate and their son Nick Wilmot, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife and a brother, Bernd Bohndorf.
A memorial service in remembrance of Fred will be held on Saturday, Feb. 6 at 1:00 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church (Division Rd. & Western Ave.), Jackson, and a reception will follow the service.
