Frederick E. Belger, age 89, a lifelong resident of Boltonville, passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2006 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on July 26, 1916 in Boltonville, the son of the late Frederick and Lillian (Meilahn) Belger, and on December 10, 1938, he was united in marriage to Morla Schulz at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Silver Creek. His wife preceded him in death on July 31, 1997.
Fred was a member of St. Lucas Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kewaskum. He was a member of the Boltonville Fire Department for many years and was employed by Midwest Livestock in Lomira for numerous years. He also worked at the Gehl Company in West Bend and Johann Plumbing in St. Michaels. Fred was the owner and operator of Belger’s Livestock Trucking.
His favorite pastimes included woodworking projects, fishing, spending time with his grandchildren, card club and dice club.
Survivors include three children, Bob (Karen) Belger of West Bend, Carol (Hilbert) Kertscher of Random Lake and Bonnie (Dale) Prochnow of Campbellsport; a brother, Elmer (Marian) Belger of Boltonville; a sister, Dorothy Bocher of West Bend; a very special friend, Martin Selchert from Germany, seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Edward Bocher.
Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 3, 2006 at St. Lucas Evangelical Lutheran Church,1417 Parkview Drive, Kewaskum. Rev. Edwin Fredrich will officiate and burial will be at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday in the Boltonville Union Cemetery in Boltonville.
Friends may call on Friday at the church from 4:00 p.m. until the time of services.
