Frederick H. "Fred" Wiepking

October 11, 1922 — October 31, 2010

Frederick H. “Fred” Wiepking, 88, of Brownsville, passed away on Sunday, October 31, 2010, at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac.


He was born on October 11, 1922, in Cedarburg, the son of the late Martin and Eliza (Wulff) Wiepking, and on April 7, 1956, he was united in marriage to Dorothea “Dorothy” Tenbroeke at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Grafton. Fred and Dorothy were members of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Grafton, where Fred was a member of the male choir and served as church council chairman.


Fred was a lifelong farmer. He farmed in the Cedarburg area and when his family wanted to expand their farming operations, they moved to Brownsville. Fred was a member of the Farm Bureau and an active member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brownsville, where he served as church council chairman. In his younger years, he enjoyed bowling. Fred will fondly be remembered for his love to dance, sing, read and cut firewood. He will be deeply missed by his wife, his family and by all who knew him.


Those Fred leaves behind to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 54 years, Dorothy; three sons, Gary (Kimberly) Wiepking of Brownsville, Brian (Wanda) Wiepking of Theresa and Craig (Mary) Wiepking of Fond du Lac; four grandchildren, Samuel, Kathryn, Timothy and Alexander Wiepking, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Fred was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret (Edward) Meissner.


Funeral services for Fred were held at noon on Wednesday, November 3, 2010, at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 605 Highland Avenue in Brownsville. Rev. William Carter officiated and burial followed in the church cemetery.

Relatives and friends called on Wednesday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
