Gary L. Potter, 64, of Kewaskum, passed away on Friday, November 26, 2010, at Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital in Wauwatosa after a brief illness.


He was born on November 25, 1946, in Alma, Michigan, the son of the late Robert and Joyce (LaLonde) Potter, and on March 5, 1966, he was united in marriage to Bonnie Doud at the Methodist Church in Black River Falls.


Gary was a member for 35 years of the Operating Engineers Local 139 Union and was crane operator for Michels pipeline until retiring in 2009. Gary enjoyed camping, fishing and truly was a devoted husband, a cherished father and grandfather, a loving brother and a good friend to many. He will be deeply missed by his wife, his family and by all who knew him.


Those Gary leaves behind to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Bonnie; his children, Gary (Kim) Potter Jr. of Albany, Oregon, Eugena (Scott) Anderson of Oak Creek, Bobbi (Joe) Gaudynski of Kewaskum, Derek (Holly) Potter of Theresa and Zachary (Emily) Potter of West Bend; twelve grandchildren, Jacob, Tyler and Kali Anderson, Kayla, Kaitlyn and Carter Gaudynski, Nick, Emily, Chase and Cloey Potter, David and Elizabeth Potter; eight brothers, Michael and Frank Potter, Allen and Dale Inbody, Edward Reynolds, George Jr., Johnny and Kurt Stec; two sisters, Yalonda Berry and Maryann Feenstra, other relatives and friends.


In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Stec.


Funeral services for Gary were held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 2, 2010, at the Miller Funeral Home in Kewaskum. Rev. Greg Laska officiated and burial was at 11:00 a.m. on Friday in Buffalo Cemetery in the town of Kewaskum.


Relatives and friends called at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of services.
