Genevieve A. Justl, nee Land, age 96, of West Bend, passed away Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at Cedar Bay West in the town of West Bend.
She was born on December 2, 1914 in Milwaukee to the late Arthur and Genevieve "Eva" (nee Turner) Land. Genevieve attended West Division High School in Milwaukee and went on to graduate from St. Joseph's School of Nursing which later became the Marquette School of Nursing. On October 17, 1943 she was united in marriage to Norman Justl at Gesu Catholic Church in Milwaukee. In 1946, Genevieve and Norman moved from Chicago to West Bend. Norman preceded her in death in 1968.
Genevieve was the former Director of Nurses at the Samaritan Health Center. She enjoyed quilting, refurbishing antiques and traveling the U.S. and Europe. Genevieve was a host to several AFS students. She was a member of the West Bend women's club and her bible study group at church.
Genevieve is survived by her two sons, Dr. Robert (Barbara) Justl of Sun Prairie and Thomas Justl of Columbus, OH; four grandchildren, David (Cathy), Andrew, Sarah and Jonathan Justl; one great-granddaughter, Annakiya Justl; other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Norman; son, Mark; and two sisters, Geraldine Purdy and Winifred Ethier.
A Mass of Christian burial in remembrance of Genevieve will be held on Tuesday, December 28th at 12:00 pm at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, 1025 S. 7th Avenue, West Bend. Rev. Jeff Haines will be the celebrant. Visitation will be at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 am until the time of the mass. Burial will follow in Washington County Memorial Park.
