Genevieve “Gen” Sophia Luedtke (nee Kehrmeyer), 93, of Lomira, formerly of Kewaskum, passed away on Monday, December 31, 2018, at Hope Health & Rehab in Lomira.
She was born on May 7, 1925, to the late Alvin and Rose (nee Gindt) Kehrmeyer in Le Roy, WI. On November 20, 1943, she was united in marriage to Merlin Luedtke at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Le Roy. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Kewaskum and a former member of the choir. Genevieve also was and a member of the Literacy Club where she taught adults to read. She enjoyed baking and gardening. The most important thing to her was spending time with her family, her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Those Genevieve leaves behind to cherish her memory include her son, Thomas (Linda) Luedtke of West Bend; six grandchildren, Scott (Chris) Holl of Kewaskum, Michael (Jennifer) Luedtke of Eureka, Missouri, Renee Steger and Tracie (Tim) Fechter both of West Bend, Paul (Mariah) Luedtke of Germantown and Julie (Bryan) Winters of Miami, Florida; eleven great-grandchildren, Tanner and Lexus Luedtke, Luke, Spencer, and Mason Steger, Morgan Krause and Zachary Fechter, Camden, Addison and Crosby Luedtke, and Dominque Winters; a son-in-law, Don Holl; two sisters, Rosemary Pabich and Kathy Daughtery; Two brothers, Earl (Betty) Kehrmeyer and Don (special friend Betsy) Kehrmeyer; a sister-in-law, Cathy Kehrmeyer; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Genevieve was preceded in death by her husband, Merlin Luedtke; a daughter, Janice Holl; a sister, Addie (Carly) Lookman; two brothers, Francis (Pat) Kehrmeyer and Vernie Kehrmeyer; two sisters-in-law, Mary Kehrmeyer and Marcella (Frank) Janovsky; and two brothers-in-law, Oscar Pabich and Robert Daughtery.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Genevieve will be held at noon on Saturday, January 5, 2019, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 331 Main St., Kewaskum. Father Jacob Strand officiating and burial to follow in the parish cemetery.
The family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of Mass.
