Genevieve A. Schwartz, 96, of the Town of Lomira, died Monday, July 16, 2012, at Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac.
The former Genevieve Reimer, she was born February 5, 1916, in the Town of Ashford to Frank and Loretta May (McEvoy) Reimer. On November 2, 1940, she married Clarence Schwartz. Clarence preceded her in death on September 21, 1998.
Genevieve spent her life as a devoted farm wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed gardening and canning her produce, and was an active partner on the dairy farm. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lomira.
Survivors include her two children, Jerome Schwartz of Lomira and Agnes (Rudolph) Jaeger of Brownsville; five grandchildren, Debra (Eric) Fessler of Brookfield, Daryl (Chrissann) Jaeger of Kewaskum, Mark Jaeger of Fond du Lac, Renee (Scott) Schmitz of Fond du Lac and Randy Jaeger (special friend, Sara Michels) of Brownsville; 12 great-grandchildren, Nathan and Matthew Fessler, Brandon, Kambria and Kallissa Jaeger, Courteney, Aaron and Genny Tatham, Christopher Jaeger, Jacob, Benjamin, and Allison Schmitz; a sister-in-law, Katherine “Tootie” Reimer of Hartford; former sisters-in law, Viola Grady of Hartford, Pearl Oechsner of Theresa and Mary Reimer of Manitowoc, many nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and neighbors.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Clarence; a granddaughter, Mary Beth Tatham; three sisters, Frances (Frank) Esser, Katherine (Gregor) Kleinhans, and Helen (Peter) Purko; three brothers, Joe (Norma) Reimer, Eugene “Gene” Reimer and George Reimer; brothers-in-law and sisters-in law, Lena (John) Weigand, Louisa (Harvey) Weigand, Alvin (Leona) Schwartz and Frances (William) Kedinger.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Genevieve was held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, July 20, 2012 St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lomira. Rev. Dennis Budka officiated and entombment was on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum in Fond du Lac.
Visitation for Genevieve Schwartz was on Friday at the church from 3:00 p.m. until the time of Mass.
