George J. Heilmann, Jr. found peace at the age of 69 while surrounded by his loving wife and children on February 12, 2006 at home in West Bend after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born February 6, 1937 in West Bend to the late George, Sr. and Elizabeth (nee Brockhaus) Heilmann.
George married Barbara (nee Hundt) at Holy Angels Catholic Church on September 12, 1959. George will be deeply missed and remembered by his loving wife, Barbara, and cherished children, Jennifer (David) Ruditys of Germantown, and Tedd (Noelle Schickowski) Heilmann of Viroqua, and his special grandson, Justin Schultz who will forever remember his "Papa".
George will be dearly missed by all those who were blessed to have known him. He is further survived by his sister, Marilyn Thull, sister-in-law, Leonarda Heilmann, and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by a half-brother, Felix Heilmann and a half-sister, Florence Held.
George lived in Wisconsin, Illinois, South Dakota, and Florida, returning to West Bend in 2002. He had a varied career, the majority spent working at Eaton Corporation in Milwaukee as a computer systems analyst for 23 years before retiring in 1993. He enjoyed spending time with his family and loved them dearly. He also enjoyed playing cards, traveling, gardening, home improvements, working on his computer, and loved his dog, Shadow.
We will celebrate his life with a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, February 14, at 7:00pm at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 138 N. Eighth St., West Bend. Father John Wutscheck will officiate.
The family will greet relatives and friends at the church only on Tuesday from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Kathy Hospice or the donor's charity of choice are appreciated.
