George F. Nehrbass

October 19, 1916 — February 28, 2012

George F. Nehrbass, 95, of the town of Polk, passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at Linden Grove Health Care Center in Menomonee Falls.

He was born on October 19, 1916 at home in the town of Polk to the late George and Mayme (nee Groth) Nehrbass. He was united in marriage to Hazel Bock on April 24, 1954 at Fifth Ave. United Methodist Church in West Bend.

George farmed on the family farm for many years. He served on the Polk Town Board and was Town Clerk for many years. He also served on the Washington County Board and was the Washington County Clerk from 1974 until his retirement in 1985.

He was a member of Fifth Ave. United Methodist Church, West Bend, and the West Bend Noon Kiwanis Club. He also served on the Highway View School Board for many years.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He loved taking the family on summer trips up north to a difference place every year. He also loved trips to Florida where he enjoyed collecting sea shells.

He enjoyed gardening and was very generous with the produce from his garden. He was also known for handing out Kit-Kat bars everywhere he went.

He is survived by his wife, Hazel; two daughters, Barb (Mike Miota) Kumrow of Menomonee Falls, and Sue (David) Hauser of Richfield; four grandchildren, Scott Kumrow of Menomonee Falls, Tammy Kumrow of Milwaukee, Sara Hauser of Stevens Point, and Andrew Hauser of Wauwatosa; a sister, Beatrice Lambrecht of Jackson; a nephew, Scott Lambrecht of San Francisco, CA; a niece, Cindy Stone of Jackson; two great-nephews, Jacob Stone and Zachary Stone; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his step-mother, Josephine; and a brother-in-law, Howard Lambrecht.

Funeral services in remembrance of George will be held on Friday, March 2 at 7:00 p.m. at the Myrhum - Patten Funeral Home, 1315 W. Washington St., West Bend. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in Cedar Park Cemetery in the town of Richfield on Saturday at 11:00 a.m.
