Gerald A. Brockway, 71, passed away on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at his home in West Bend.
He was born on January 22, 1939 in Milwaukee to the late Donald and Lillian (nee Birno) Brockway. Jerry served his country honorably in the United States Army and he was employed at A.O. Smith and Tower Automotive for many years.
Jerry was better known as Papa. His grandchildren adored him, as he showed them just how much love a Papa could have, tons! He found his greatest joys in life by spending time with his family. Jerry often spoke of how happy he was, now more than ever... those who love him know why.
Jerry was very talented. He carved wooden keepsakes such as walking sticks, jewelry boxes and magical wands painted especially for those he loved. Jerry shared his time and talents not just with his family, but with friends and neighbors as well. He will be sadly missed.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Bonnie; four children, Jerry (Julie) Brockway Jr., Debbie (Randy) Tessar, Donald (Candy) Brockway, and Frank (Erica) Brockway; two step-sons, Jon (Amy) Graf and Jason (Shannon) Anderson; seven grandchildren, Alex, Dani, Jason, Shannah Anne "Matilda", D.J., Anjolie "Babydoll", Cassidy; five step-grandchildren, Tyler, Ryan, JJ, Jonathan and Ashton; his sister, Phyllis Adams; three brothers, Robert (Marge) Brockway, Ronald (Gabrielle) Brockway and James (Carol) Brockway; other relatives and friends.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jack Brockway.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
We are thankful to have had the time together that we did and the lasting mementos he created. He is in our hearts, our souls and our memories. We love you Dad, we love you Papa, we love you friend. Our hearts are aching without you.
