Gertrude E. Fellenz

Gertrude E. Fellenz, (nee Geidel), age 91, of West Bend, passed away Monday December 25, 2006 at Cedar Lake Health Care Center.

She was born on July 10, 1915 on the family homestead farm in Fillmore to the late Edwin and Bertha (nee Bach) Geidel, and attended the single room schoolhouse in Fillmore.

On October 13, 1934 Gertrude was united in marriage to Sylvester Fellenz in the parsonage of St. Michaels. Together they farmed on the Fellenz homestead farm in St. Michaels until moving to Kewaskum in 1951. Gertrude then started working at the West Bend Company, where she worked for 27 years. In 1972 they moved to West Bend, and Sylvester preceded her in death in 1974.

Gertrude was a life long member of St. Martin's United Church of Christ in Fillmore. She was a member of the West Bend Company 25 year club. Gertrude enjoyed gardening and playing the accordion.

Gertrude is survived by a sister-in-law, Irma Geidel of Loveland, CO; a nephew, Rich (Carol) Geidel of West Bend; four nieces, Ruth (Gary) Doss of Johnstown, CO, Rose (Jay) Beckman of Parker, CO, Marilyn Geidel of Loveland, CO, and Carolyn (Ken) Jones of Manhattan, KS; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by a brother Howard Geidel.

Funeral services for Gertrude will be held on Saturday December 30th at 3:00 pm at the Myrhum ~ Patten Funeral Home. Rev. Vernon Clausing of St. Martin's U.C.C. will officiate. Visitation will be Saturday at the funeral home from 1:00 pm until the time of service. Burial will take place on Tuesday January 2nd at 10:00 am in Holy Angels Cemetery, West Bend. Memorials to the Alzheimer's Association are appreciated by the family.
