Glenn C. Gerlach

May 18, 1929 — September 30, 2014

The Lord, in His infinite wisdom, has called Glenn Carl Gerlach home to his eternal rest on September 30, 2014.

Glenn was born on May 18, 1929 in Lannon, WI to the late Walter and Vita (nee Grotelueschen) Gerlach. Glenn was baptized at St. John's Church in Lannon. He moved to the Town of Trenton in 1947 and became a member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in Newburg. He was united in marriage on June 4, 1949 to Doris A. Fick and they resided in the Town of Trenton and raised their family. They have shared their last year together at Emerald Way in West Bend.

Glenn was employed as a fabricator at Grob Inc. in Grafton and he also helped his father and brother on their farms. During retirement, he worked for Town of Trenton. He also volunteered on the St. John's Church Cemetery Committee.

He enjoyed horseback riding, refurbishing tractors and spending time with his family at their cottage. In his later years, he took care of his wife and watched over her. He worked hard and was a very giving person.

Glenn will be sadly missed by his wife of 65 years, Doris; his four daughters, Diane (Steve) Wallendal, Sandy (Gordy) Haeuser, Cheryl (Tom) Goeke, and Barbara (Todd) Roy; nine grandchildren, Jeremy (Lisa) Gerlach, Randy (Jaclyn) Haeuser, Amanda (Keith) Pfeifer, Ben Struebing, Ryan Haeuser, Russell (Sara) Haeuser, Tanya Miske, Cara (Clint) Anewenter, and Michael Roy; nine great-grandchildren; Jack and Alexis Gerlach, Thomas, Connor, Olivia, Cadence and Grace Haeuser, Elliot Anewenter, and Blake Struebing; four step-grandchildren; a sister, Elma (William) Faber; a brother, Eugene (Sharon) Gerlach; three sisters-in-law, Jeanice Gerlach, Joyce Gerlach, and Marjorie Fick; a brother-in-law, Wilmer Ehlke; other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Vita Gerlach; an infant son, Walter; a grandson, Thomas Haeuser; four brothers, Melvin Gerlach, John Gerlach, Edwin Gerlach, and Raymond Gerlach; a sister, Grace Naumann; three brothers-in-law, Donald Fick, Raymond Fick, and Arthur Naumann; three sisters-in-law, Florence Ehlke, Marietta Fick, and Sally Gerlach.

A funeral service in remembrance of Glenn will be held on Friday, October 3 at 4:00 p.m. at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, Newburg. Rev. Kurt Schaser will officiate and interment will follow in St. John's Church Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Friday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service.
