Glenway Ehnert

June 12, 1934 — September 10, 2011

Glen M. Ehnert, age 77, of Elm Grove was called home to be with our Lord and Savior on Saturday, September 10, 2011 at Franciscan Woods in Brookfield.

He was born on June 12, 1934 in West Bend to the late Glenway and Malinda (nee Quandt) Ehnert. Glen was raised on the family farm in New Fane. He graduated from West Bend High School and later from Valparaiso University where he earned his masters in aeronautical engineering. Glen worked for North American Aviation for many years before changing careers and working for various companies as a mechanical engineer. During that time Glen also enjoyed operating a side business as a professional photographer.

Glen loved to fly air planes and was a former member of the EAA Experimental Aircraft Association. He was also a former member of a barbershop quartet and current member of the Dairy Land Theater Organ Society, the Wisconsin All-Users Computer Club, and the Vagabond Social Club. Glen was very interested in politics and religion. He loved ballroom and Polka dancing, and enjoyed making home made wine. Glen will be remembered by his family and friends as being a kind and courteous man who was always willing to lend a helping hand.

Glen is survived by his special friend of 10 years, Marge Ekstowicz of Brookfield; 9 cousins, Byrdell (Ivan) Schulz of Campbellsport, Val Rae Wettstin of California, Pat Collins of West Bend, Delmar (Maria) Ehnert of Florida, Sandy (Jon) Hilton of California, Richard (Joan) Ehnert of Campbellsport, Barbara (Homer) Justman of West Bend, Cheryl (Harry) Beall of New Fane, and Pamela (Dennis) Jacak of New Fane; and many other dear relatives and close friends.

Funeral services in honor of Glen will be held on Friday, September 16th at 11:00 am at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home in West Bend. Burial will follow in Washington County Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday, September 15th from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and again on Friday from 10:00 am until the time of service.

Memorials to the family are greatly appreciated.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the entire staff of Franciscan Woods for all of their care and compassion.
