Gordon N. Covill

Gordon N. Covill, 95, of West Bend passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2019.

He was born on December 30, 1923 to the late Neil and Gladys (nee Mitchell) Covill in Oshkosh WI. Gordon attended Berlin High School and graduated in 1941. He spent 2 years in the Navy and then graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Madison in 1947 with a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering. On September 1, 1946 he was united in marriage to Betty Blood at Plymouth Congregational Church in Oshkosh. He worked as an industrial engineer with the Volbrath Co. of Sheboygan Wisconsin for five years, as a product design engineer with the West Bend Co. for eleven years, and as a purchase analyst with American Motors in Kenosha WI for three years. He returned in 1990 to the West Bend Co. as a purchasing agent for 24 years. Gordon was a registered Wisconsin Professional Engineer and a certified NAPM Purchasing Manager. He was a past master of West Bend Lodge 138 F&M Masons. Gordon was a member of Fifth Avenue Methodist Church in West Bend. His hobbies included golf, tennis, bowling, downhill skiing, and contract bridge. He played piano for monthly sing - a longs at the Samaritan Home since 1993. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Those Gordon leaves behind to cherish his memory include his two daughters, Linda (Gene) Elbe of Waukesha and Kaye (Paul) Robertell of Deltona FL.; two granddaughters, Rachel (David) Bauer of Waukesha and Samantha Robertell of Detroit MI.; three great grandchildren, Brooke, Courtney, and Ethan Bauer of Waukesha; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Gordon is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Covill.

A memorial service in remembrance of Gordon will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at the Myrhum Patten Funeral and Cremation Service, 1315 W. Washington St., West Bend.

The family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.

Memorial to the Fifth Avenue Methodist Church or the Washington County United Way in Gordon’s name will be appreciated by the family.
