Grace "Graci" A. (Grantman) Bucklen

Grace “Graci” Ann Bucklen (nee Grantman), 73, of Fond du Lac, formerly of Lomira, passed away at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac, on February 9, 2023 surrounded by her loving family.

Graci was born on December 4, 1949 in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, the daughter of the late Melvin and Betty (nee Potter) Grantman. Graci grew up in Lomira, graduating from Lomira High School in 1968. She was united in marriage to John Charles Bucklen on July 31, 1972 in Watertown, South Dakota.

Throughout Graci’s life, she never failed to make an impact on all who knew her. She brought joy through her unmistakable laugh, and her love of shenanigans. Graci enjoyed working at Lomira Public Schools; Lomira Public Library; selling antiques; and working with animals. However, her most beloved role was Mom, Nanny, and Darlin’.  There was always room in Graci’s heart for new family, whether the friends of her kids, or adopting pets that may not otherwise find a home; and especially her extended family, in particular cousins who she held so very dear.

Those Graci leaves behind to cherish her memory include her husband, John; a son, Ben Bucklen; two daughters, Amy (Beau) Polinske and Jennifer (Todd) Gilgenbach; five grandchildren, Jaidyn, Madalyn, and Cooper Gilgenbach, and Vinetta and Casper Polinske; a sister, Patricia Chastian; a brother, Mickey (Beth) Grantman; her dear cousins; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, Graci is preceded in death by her beloved mother-in-law, Hildur L’Allier; a nephew; and other dear relatives and friends.

VISITATION: Graci’s family will greet relatives and friends at the Kietzer-Miller Funeral Home (350 Main Street, Lomira) on Saturday, March 4, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.

FUNERAL SERVICE: A Funeral Service for Graci will be held at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home on Saturday.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the St. Agnes ICU staff for their outstanding care and compassion for Graci.
