Harold J. Hartmann

Harold J. Hartmann, age 91, of the town of Fredonia, passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at the Hartford Aurora Medical Center.

He was born on April 30, 1920 in Austin, MN to the late Frederick and Ida (Nee Reinke) Hartmann. On November 14, 1942, he was united in marriage to Dorothy E. Klein at St. Martin's U.C.C. in Fillmore. She preceded him in death on November 7, 1993. He later married Ann Zack who also preceded him in death on September 27, 2003.

Harold worked as a farmer until retiring in 1982. He enjoyed looking out the window of his home, watching the wildlife on the land that he farmed for many years. He was a member of St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church in Random Lake. He is survived by his son, Ira (Lucille) Hartmann of Phillips; two grandchildren, Carol (Jeffrey) Nigh and Brian Hartmann, both of Kewaskum; a great-granddaughter, Kaila Nigh of Kewaskum; a special friend, Arlene Klein of Fredonia; his faithful companion, Cleo; other relatives and friends.

A funeral service in remembrance of Harold will be held on Saturday, December 10th at 2:00 pm at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church, 709 Grand Avenue, Random Lake. Rev. Ned Dorau will officiate and burial will follow in St. Paul's Church Cemetery in the town of Sherman. Visitation will be at the church on Saturday from 1:00 pm until the time of service.
