Harold Carl Zimmerman, age 83, of West Bend, passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2007, at the Samaritan Health Center in West Bend.
He was born on August 9, 1923, in West Bend, to the late Otto and Anna (nee Plonsky) Zimmerman. Harold served his country during WWII by enlisted in the United States Army. After the war, Harold was united in marriage to Pearl Schoenbeck on July 16, 1949 at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church on Pleasant Valley Rd.
Harold was employed by the West Bend Company for many years where he worked in the maintenance department. He was a member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in West Bend. Harold was an avid Chicago Bear's fan and his favorite pastime was serving as an umpire for the West Bend Softball Association.
Harold is survived by his loving wife, Pearl; a daughter, Debbie (John) Butschlick of West Bend; two grandchildren, Renee (Scott) Altendorf of West Bend, and Jamie (Mandy) Butschlick of Jackson; a great-grandson, Quentin Butschlick of Jackson and great-grandbaby Altendorf of West Bend. He is further survived by a sister-in-law, Marlay Zimmerman of West Bend; a brother-in-law, Donald (Pearl) Schoenbeck of West Bend; many other nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter, Bonnie Lee, three sisters, and three brothers.
A memorial service in honor of Harold's life will be held on Thursday, February 22, at 12:00 pm at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in West Bend. Rev. George Mumm will officiate. A visitation with the family will be held on Thursday at the church from 10:00 am until the time of the service at noon. Burial will take place in Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church Cemetery on Thursday at 3:00 pm.
Memorials to St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church School Tuition Grant would be greatly appreciated by the family.
