Hazel I. “Rose” Etten, 92, of Kewaskum, passed away at her home on Tuesday, April 24, 2012, surrounded by her family.
She was born on February 26, 1920, in Kaukauna, the daughter of the late Joseph and Emma (Reinhardt) Scheller, and on June 28, 1947, she was united in marriage to Herbert Etten in Kaukauna.
Hazel will fondly be remembered for her artistic talents, especially her oil paintings and rosemaling. Her artist signature was “Hazen”. She was a multi-talented woman who enjoyed cooking, sewing and gardening.
Those Hazel leaves behind to cherish her memory include her husband, Herbert, who resides at the Veterans Nursing Home in Iron Mountain, Michigan; three children, William (Carol) Etten of Negaunee, Michigan, Daniel Etten of Big Bay, Michigan and Janice (Jerry) Koch of Kewaskum; five grandchildren, Nick Etten of the Philippines, Heather Koch of Fond du Lac, Danielle (Steve) Etten Collick of Petosky, Michigan, Karen Koch McElhatton of Hartford and Joseph (Jami) Koch of Hartford; six great-grandchildren, Olivia McElhatton, Jordan Koch, Elliot Etten, Emma Collick, Lauren Koch and Carter Koch; a sister, Marie Franz of Neenah, nieces, nephews and many friends.
Private funeral services for Hazel were held at the Miller Funeral Home in Kewaskum and burial took place in Appleton Highland Memorial Park in Appleton.
