Henry R. Guell, 87, of rural Fond du Lac, passed away on Wednesday, December 8, 2021, at his home.
He was born on January 7, 1934, to the late Herbert and Clara (nee Stettbacher) Guell. On January 29, 1955, he was united in marriage to Eunice Bradley at Waukau United Methodist Church. The couple moved to the Guell-Crest farm homestead in September 1956. Together Henry and Eunice raised six children with the adage “work hard, respect others and love God”. Henry was a director of the Midland Co-op. As a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, he served on many committees, including the cemetery board. Henry was an avid blood donor. He was an active Lomira FFA alumni member. Henry and Eunice traveled to many states for the American Agri-Women national conventions. He especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends and will be missed by all that knew him.
Those Henry leaves behind to cherish his memory include his six children, Steven (Sue) Guell of Waupun, Dean (Sylvia Sanchez) Guell of Canyon, Texas, Denise (Tom) Retzleff of Fond du Lac, Brian (Deborah Toler-Guell) Guell of Murrieta, California, Jan Guell of Fond du Lac and Brent (Dena) Guell of Tomah, Wisconsin; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Melvin (Maryann) Guell of Menomonee Falls; a sister, Marjorie Kaiser of Brookfield; a brother-in-law, Leonard (Dianne) Bradley of Madison; many nieces, nephews, and other friends.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Eunice Guell; a sister, Louise (Louis II) Schultz; three sisters-in-law, Joyce (Lee) Roberts; Shirley (Melvin) Zeatlow, and Vivian (Marvin) Tews; and a brother-in-law, Dale Bradley.
Memorial services in remembrance of Henry will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 16, 2021, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Lomira. Rev. Mulongo Mpoyo will officiate with burial to follow in Ebenezer Cemetery in the town of Lomira.
The family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m.
