Henry W. Rohde, age 96, passed away Thursday, March 11, 2010 at St. Joseph's Hospital in West Bend.
He was born on October 8, 1913 in Milwaukee to the late William and Wilhelmina (nee Schmidt) Rohde. On April 26, 1941 he was united in marriage to Louise Zutz on April 26, 1941 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Fox Point. Louise preceded him in death on December 9, 2004.
Henry worked as a stationary fireman/maintenance man for Cleaver-Brooks and also Jordan Controls.
He is survived by two daughters, Joann P. (Robert) Poenitsch of West Bend and Susan J. (Michael) Suckow of Colfax; a son, Richard R. (Kendra-Sue) Rohde of McGregor, MN; seven grandchildren, Robert, Rick, and Randy Poenitsch, Thomas and William Rohde, Jennifer and Jamie Suckow; seven great grandchildren, Justin, Jacob, Grant, Elliot, Garrett, Emily, and Andrew Poenitsch; a brother, Elmer (Kay) Rohde; two sisters-in-law, Helen Oehlenschlager and Marilyn Klettke; other relatives and friends.
Henry was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Louise; three brothers, Bernhard, Ervin and William; and three sisters, Helen Reuter, Lilly Huff and Lorraine Berdine.
Funeral services in remembrance of Henry will be held on Sunday, March 14th at 2:00pm at Trinity Lutheran Church, 140 N. 7th Ave., West Bend. Visitation will be at the church from 1:00pm until the time of the services. Interment will be on Monday, March 15th in Washington County Memorial Park.
