Henry Zeiger

April 20, 1920 — June 2, 2007

Henry "Hank" Zeiger, 87, formerly of Wonder Lake, IL, died Saturday, June 2, 2007 at the Cedar Lake Health Care Center in West Bend, WI.

He was born April 20, 1920 in Chicago to the late August and Hertha (nee Specht) Zeiger. On July 25, 1942, Henry married Adeline Laschinski in Northbrook, IL.

Henry grew up in Chicago where his parents operated a bakery. He loved to build and repair machines. Early in life he was involved in auto racing and built his own midget racecar. As a young man he was employed at Sky Harbor Airport in Glenview where he began his lifelong love of aviation. Henry trained Navy pilots during World War II. After moving to McHenry County in 1954, he became the Service Manager at Rickett's Chevrolet in Fox Lake. In 1965 he became the manager of Galt Airport in Greenwood. Henry retired in 1983 to pursue his many interests and enjoy his family. Hank and Adeline moved to a retirement community in West Bend, WI in 2002.

Survivors include his wife, Adeline of West Bend, WI; two sons, Jerry (Rozanne) Zeiger of West Bend, and David (Colleen) Zeiger of Wonder Lake, IL; five grandchildren, Matthew, Nathan, Brian, Andrew, Laura; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Art Zeiger.

Henry dips his wing in love of his friends and family as he disappears over the horizon.

A private family service was held in West Bend. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Southeastern Wisconsin Chapter, 6130 West National Avenue, Suite 200, Milwaukee, WI, 53214
