Henry G. Schnitzler, 85, of Lomira, passed away on Friday, June 6, 2014, at Hope Health and Rehabilitation Center in Lomira, with his family at his side.
He was born on October 15, 1928, in the town of Theresa, the son of the late Edwin and Angela (Schmidt) Schnitzler, and on June 14, 1952, he was united in marriage to Shirley Aufdermauer at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Woodland.
Henry was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lomira and a former member of the Lomira Lions Club. Henry was a lifelong farmer and a master carpenter. He used his talents to make clocks of all kinds, including grandfather clocks, bedroom sets for family members and built the cabinets and made the trim for their home. He will be deeply missed by his wife, his family and by all who knew him.
Those Henry leaves behind to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 62 years, Shirley; three children, Judy (Mark) Holl of Juneau, John (Jeanie) Schnitzler of Theresa and Henry Schnitzler Jr. of Grafton; two brothers, Andrew Schnitzler of Fond du Lac and Joseph (Henrietta) Schnitzler of Theresa; a brother-in-law, Father Joe Aufdermauer of New Berlin, six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Henry was preceded in death by a brother, Martin (Annie) Schnitzler; two sisters-in-law, Marion Schnitzler and Jean Schnitzler and a brother-in-law, Claude (Mary Jane) Aufdermauer.
A private Memorial Mass for Henry will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lomira. Father Joe Aufdermauer will officiate and burial of his cremains will be in St. Theresa Catholic Church Cemetery in Theresa.
The Kietzer-Miller Funeral Home in Lomira has been entrusted with Henry’s arrangements.
