Hilda L. Werner, (nee Manske), age 99, of West Bend, passed away Sunday May 25, 2008 at the Samaritan Health Center.
She was born on April 2, 1909 in Wessington Springs, South Dakota to the late Carl and Frieda (nee Wolfe) Manske, and came to Waubeka area during the depression seeking employment.
On June 14, 1937 Hilda was united in marriage to Oscar Werner in Port Washington. Together they farmed in the Waukeka area until 1957. In 1960 they moved to West Bend. Hilda worked at Power Products in Grafton until her retirement in 1974.
Hilda was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her life was full and active until just a few short weeks ago.
She is survived by two daughters, Dorene Condon, and Alice Werner, both of West Bend; four grandchildren, David Pryor, Dan (Mildred) Pryor, Dean Pryor, and Lisa (Chris) Weiss; four great-grandchildren, Samantha and Andrew Pryor, Brooke and Justin Weiss; a sister-in-law, Norma Manske of Wahoo, Nebraska; along with her special buddy "Nippy"; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar; an infant son, Ronald; a grandson Dennis Pryor; along with her brother, Delbert Manske.
Funeral services in remembrance of Hilda will be held on Thursday May 29th at 2:00 pm at the Myrhum ~ Patten Funeral Home, West Bend. Rev. Sharon Stier will officiate, and burial will follow in Washington County Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the funeral home Thursday from 12:00 (noon) until the time of service. Memorials to the Full Shelf Food Pantry are appreciated.
The family wishes to express deep gratitude to Dr. Klausmeier, Dr. Gibson, the nurses, and staff at SynergyHealth St. Joseph's Hospital and the Samaritan Health Center for their expert and compassionate care of Hilda.
