Hubert Vogt

March 25, 1933 — January 8, 2013

Hubert W. "Hubie" Vogt, 79, of West Bend, passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at St. Joseph's Hospital in the town of Polk.

He was born on March 25, 1933 in Menomonee Falls to the late Hubert and Mary (nee Rach) Vogt. He served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956 and was stationed in Germany. On December 12, 1959 Hubert was united in marriage to Laverne Dumke at Zion Church in Embarrass.

After returning from his service in the Army, Hubert farmed on the family farm in the town of Polk. He then worked at Cooley's Inc. in West Bend for 10 years before working for the town of Polk. He later returned to work at Cooley's until his retirement in October 1998.

He was a member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in West Bend. He loved farm toys and tractors and he also enjoyed tractor pulling and playing Sheepshead.

He is survived by his wife, Laverne; three children, Donald (Donna) Vogt of Campbellsport, Debra (Timothy) Williams of West Bend, and James Vogt of West Bend; four grandchildren, Michelle Williams, Nicole Williams, Becky Vogt, and Bryce Vogt; two sisters, Hildegarde Rolfs of Plover, and Gertrude Guenther of Oconomowoc; two brothers, George (June) Vogt of Venice, FL, and Robert (Ardene) Vogt of West Bend; a sister-in-law, Ethel Koeller of Embarrass; a brother-in-law, Gordon Klemp of Clintonville; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends, and his "Grandpuppy" Roxi.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Marguerite (Carl) Karrow and Marion (Raymond) Pfeil; two brothers, Albert Vogt and Raymond Vogt; his parents-in-law, Paul and Ada Dumke; two sisters-in-law, Pauline Klemp and Dorothy Zeuske Postel; and four brothers-in-law, Kenneth Rolf, Roy Guenther, Harold Koeller, and Dennis Zeuske.

A funeral service in remembrance of Hubert will be held on Friday, January 11 at 1:00 p.m. at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, 1315 W. Washington St., West Bend. The Rev. Gerald Presuhn will officiate and burial will follow in Washington County Memorial Park, West Bend. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
