Hunter Randolph Stevens Jr

Hunter Randolph Stevens Jr, of West Bend, died of natural causes at the age of 91 on Thursday, June 25, 2015 at Vista Pointe II in Menomonee Falls.

He was born on January 4, 1924 to the late Hunter and Valeria (nee Roberts) Stevens Sr. and was raised in Philadelphia, PA.

Joining the Navy in WWII, Hunter served aboard the USS Mindanao in the Pacific as a Ship Repair Welder. After his honorable discharge, Hunter was united in marriage to Eleanor "Babe" Knitter and raised their family in Random Lake and West Bend.

Hunter worked as a mechanical engineer installing industrial heating systems throughout the United States. After retiring, he and Babe opened Long Boy Subs & Pizzas in West Bend.

Hunter performed as the clown known as "Mr. Boots." He was past president of the Clown Hall of Fame and fulfilled a dream of taking Clowns of America internationally. He was commissioned the honorary title of "Kentucky Colonel" by the Governor of Kentucky in 1966.

Hunter leaves behind his wife of 69 years, Eleanor "Babe" Stevens; two sons, Randall (Tracy) Stevens of Ohio, and Rod (Sue) Stevens of WI; Hunter was blessed with grandchildren, Tara (Paul) Nigh, Amber Stevens, , Sammi Stevens, Nick Stevens, and Alexandra Richardson; along with great grandson, Jonathan Richardson; and brother, Ronald (Sue) Stevens of Fl.

Preceding Hunter in death were his parents, Valeria & Hunter Stevens; brother, Robert Stevens; and his eldest son, Hunter R. Stevens III.

Funeral services in remembrance of Hunter will be held on Wednesday July 1st at 6:00 pm at the Myrhum - Patten Funeral Home,( 1315 W. Washington St.) West Bend. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4:00 pm until the time of service.
