Ina C. "Anne" Appel, nee Soloman, age 70, of Mayville, passed away on December 2, 2012 at the Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born on December 22, 1941 in Medford, WI to the late Archie and Clara (nee Vogel) Solomon.
Ina was a very committed employee at Regal Ware where she loved working for 35 years. In her retirement, Ina worked part-time at Dough Works of Horicon. She also enjoyed selling Mary Kay for 20 years. Ina loved cooking, traveling with her significant other, Allen, feeding and watching birds, and spending time on her computer. Ina's grand and great-grandchildren were her world and she loved spending time with them.
She is survived by two children, Renee (Ross) Keel of Mayville and George Appel of Beaver Dam; significant other of 41 years, Allen Geiger of Theresa; five grandchildren, Jeffery (Jennifer Walter) Keel of Beaver Dam, Crystal (Anthony) Greene of Joint Base Lewis McCord, WA, Kandie (Adam) Jorgensen of Mayville, Brandon Keel of Mayville, and Tiffany Appel of Beaver Dam; 11 great-grandchildren, Michael, Sierra, Tori, Gabrielle, Alison, Lucius, Ella Rose, Idaliah, Jesus, Keeleigh, and Anthony; two sisters; three brothers; other relatives and friends.
Ina was preceded in death by her parents; husband George Appel on December 18, 1966; and one brother.
A memorial service in remembrance of Ina will be held on Saturday, December 15th at 1:00 pm at the Myrhum ~ Patten Funeral Home, 15 S. Walnut St. Mayville (Formerly Cottrill Funeral Home). Burial will follow in Theresa Union Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday at the funeral home from 10:00 am until the time of the service.
Memorials to the family are appreciated and will be used to purchase a remembrance stone at the Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac.
