Inez M. Ustruck, 98, of West Bend died peacefully December 7, 2023
She was born May 20, 1925, to the late Frank H. and Lydia (nee Hafemeister) Miller. Her early life was spent on the family farm in the Town of Farmington. In 1941 the family moved to Barton, settling in a home on Barton Avenue, where she would raise her own 4 children.
After graduating from West Bend High School in 1943, she met and married Francis J. “Lefty” Ustruck October 26, 1946, at St. Mary's in Barton.
She was a member of the Barton VFW Post 8658 auxiliary, served Barton as Justice of the Peace, and was an active and proud Democrat.
She started working at the Barton Post Office in the late 50’s and then at the West Bend Post Office after the West Bend-Barton merger.
After retirement, she kept busy volunteering at the St. Joseph Gift Shop, making quilts which she exhibited at County and State Fairs and West Bend library, and gardening.
She moved to Ivy Manor in 2015 where she spent the remainder of her life.
Mrs. Ustruck is survived by son, Paul; daughters, Leah (William) Trapp and Mary (Howard) Podeszwa; granddaughters, Jessica and Jamie Trapp; nephew, Robert “Bob” Miller; and other family and friends.
Besides her parents, Mrs. Ustruck was preceded in death by her husband, Lefty; son, Jon; brother, Silas Miller; and nephew, Glenn Miller.
A special thank you to the staff at Ivy Manor for the care provided Mrs. Ustruck in her last years.
Private services and burial are planned.
