Ingeburg Hansen

December 15, 1938 — September 7, 2004

Ingeburg Hansen, nee Reimers, 65, of West Bend, found peace on Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2004 at Froedtert Hospital in Wauwaotsa after a long struggle with cystic fibrosis.

She was born on Dec. 15, 1938 in Schleswig, Germany to the late Wilhelm and Frieda (nee Edsen) Reimers. On Oct. 31, 1962 she was united in marriage to Hans Hansen in Germany.

She had a lifelong love of gardening, which was acknowledged by receiving the very first West Bend Mayor's Beautification Award for her beautiful yard.

She was the beloved wife of Hans; loving mother of Susanne (Christopher) Bakken and Michael (Susan) Hansen, both of West Bend; doting grandmother of Adam Bakken, Amanda Bakken, Melanie Bakken, Kai Bakken, Amelia Hansen, and Lydia Hansen; and dear sister of Liselotte Detlefsen of Luebeck, Germany. She is also survived by other relatives and friends here in the United States and in Germany.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Hans Reimers.

Funeral services will be held on Mon. Sept. 13 at 7:00 p.m. at Myrhum - Patten Funeral & Cremation Service, West Bend. Rev. Oscar Kraft of Our Savior's Lutheran Church will officiate and cremation will follow. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Mon. from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service.
