James “Jim” A. Bretschneider, 63, of Newburg, passed away on Monday, October 19, 2015, while at Kathy Hospice, West Bend.
Jim was born on January 28, 1952, to the late Karl and LaVera (nee Jobs) Bretschneider in Port Washington, Wisconsin. He graduated from the last class at West Bend High school in 1970 before the split into two high schools. He managed several restaurants before he owned and operated his own. Jim loved playing pool, flower gardening and cooking. He also loved golfing with friends and family. Jim will be missed by all who knew him.
Those Jim leaves behind to cherish his memory include his three sisters, Kathleen (Ron) Kabitzke, Cheryl (Jesse) Garcia, and Susan (Mike) Marolla; son, Brian Bretschneider; special friend Irma Schairer as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2015, at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, (1315 W. Washington St.) West Bend, WI from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
A memorial service will follow immediately thereafter.
Jim’s family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home Saturday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service. Burial will be on Saturday, October 24 at 3:00 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, Newburg.
The family would appreciate, in lieu of flowers, a memorial can be made to the Albrecht Clinic or Kathy Hospice in honor of Jim.
