James R. “Jim” Goff, 59, of Lomira, passed away on Thursday, January 31, 2013, at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac.
He was born on December 28, 1953, in Milwaukee, the son of the late Robert and Fern (Prud’Homme) Goff, and on July 18, 1973, he was united in marriage to Lydia Meinholz in Milwaukee.
Jim was a lifelong member of the Boy Scouts and was a member of the Boy Scouts in Milwaukee. Jim and Lydia owned Lomira Video for 26 years and were members of the Lomira Chamber of Commerce.
Jim was generous with his time and talents. He would help anyone who needed help and enjoying tinkering with electronics. He was full of energy, ideas and considered a natural entrepreneur. He will be deeply missed by his wife, his family and by all who knew him.
Those Jim leaves behind to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Lydia; two children, Julie (Matthew) Goff-Goodhue of Lake Ann, Michigan and Lee (Margo) Goff of Fond du Lac; six grandsons, Benjamin, Luke, James, Daniel and Nathaniel Goodhue, Neilson Goff and baby girl Goff; three sisters, Sheryn Goff of Lomira, Sandy Sherman of North Hills, California and Christine (John) Goff-Lehman of Hales Corners; a brother, Ed (Gail) Goff of Delafield; his stepfather, Kenneth Baaske of Theresa; a sister-in-law, Mary (Mike) Jackson of Theresa; two brothers-in-law, David (Jackie) Meinholz of Saukville and Paul Meinholz of Green Bay, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his stepmother, Helen Baaske; his stepfather, Roy Kimpel; a brother-in-law, Jack Meinholz and a sister-in-law, Carolyn Mycon.
A memorial service for Jim was held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, February 4, 2013, at the Kietzer-Miller Funeral Home in Lomira with Rev. Kerry Wilson officiating.
Jim’s family greeted relatives and friends at the funeral home on Monday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of services.
