James Lape

James W. Lape, age 69, of Menomonee Falls, passed away on Sunday, July 29, 2012 at Community Memorial Hospital.

He was born on May 14, 1943 in Hammond, IN to the late James and Ethel (nee Merrill) Lape. James served his country honorably in the United States Air Force for 20 years.

On April 27, 1986, he was united in marriage to Irene Pamperin at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church in Kohlsville.

After retiring from the Air Force, Jim drove school bus for Johnson Bus Co. in Menomonee Falls for just over 20 years.

He was a member of Pilgrim Ev. Lutheran Church, Menomonee Falls, the Air Force Sergeants Association Chapter 851, American Legion Post #382, the Menomonee Falls Historical Society, and the Menomonee Falls Saddle Club. Jim had a love for animals, especially horses.

He is survived by his wife, Irene Lape of Menomonee Falls; six children, Lisa (Tyree) Weddles of West Bend, Kelly (Richard) Gill of Marlboro, NJ, Deborah (Dan) Pine of Whittier, NC, Kris (Dave) Friedli of Hyrum, UT, Kasey (fiancAC., Ryan Rogers) Hornsby of Hyrum, UT, and Tyler (fiancAC.e, Rachel Remak) Lape of Hyrum, UT; 15 grandchildren, William Combs, Virgina Combs, James Combs, Richard Gill, Jennifer Gill, Autumn Pine, Cooper Pine, Braydon Friedli, Brooklyn Friedli, BraeLyn Friedli, Brikon Friedli, Hailey Hornsby, Maxwell Hornsby, Ledger Hornsby, and Lucas Lape; five great-grandchildren, Fayth, Elice, Stephen, Willow, and Alexander; one sister, Janice (Daniel) Austgen of Hebron, IN; three brothers-in-law, Mark (Betty) Pamperin, of Allenton, James (Carolyn) Pamperin of West Bend, and Charles (Chris) Pamperin of West Bend; sister-in-law, Bea Pamperin of Menomonee Falls; other relatives and friends.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents and aunt, Ruth Merrill.

Funeral services in remembrance of Jim will be held on Thursday August 2nd at 6:00 pm at Pilgrim Ev. Lutheran Church, W156 N5435 Bette Drive, Menomonee Falls. Pastor James M. Behringer will officiate. Visitation will be Thursday at the church from 3:00 pm until the time of service. Cremation will follow and inurnment will be in Sunnyside Cemetery, Menomonee Falls.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Froedert Health Community Memorial Hospital Cancer Care Center are appreciated by the family.
