James Lee “Jim” Marks, 64, of Lomira, passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2011, at his home.
He was born on January 12, 1947, in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, the son of Fredrick and Edith (Keogh) Marks, and on July 1, 1967, he was united in marriage to Dawn Kowalski in South Milwaukee.
Jim served his country in the U. S. Navy during the Vietnam War.
Those Jim leaves behind to cherish his memory include his wife of 44 years, Dawn; four children, Danette (Scott) Stuettgen of Pewaukee, Jason (Trisha) Marks of Fond du Lac, Rhonda (Tim) Kemmel of Brownsville and April (Eric) Sauer of Lomira; his mother, Edith Marks of Ogema, Minnesota; two brothers, Donald Marks of Arizona and John Marks; ten grandchildren, Jared and Kurt Stuettgen, Aaron Giese, Olivia Marks, Emma, Becca and Karlie Kemmel, Alec, Allison and Adam Sauer; two great-granddaughters, Brook and Brianna Stuettgen, other relatives and friends.
Jim was preceded in death by his father.
In honor of his wishes, there was no visitation. A Memorial Service and burial of his cremains was at 2:00 p.m. at the chapel in Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 21731 Spring Street in Union Grove on Wednesday, June 29, 2011.
A gathering/pot luck to celebrate his life followed the burial at N43W27445 Capitol Drive, Pewaukee, Wisconsin.
The Kietzer-Miller Funeral Home in Lomira was entrusted with Jim’s arrangements.
