James M. Raddatz, 49, of West Bend, WI was called home to be with his Lord and family on Wednesday, May 28, 2014.
He was born on May 11, 1965 in Olivia, MN to the late Helmuth and Marjorie (nee Retzlaff) Raddatz. He graduated from Danube High School in Danube, MN in 1983 and then attended Dr. Martin Luther College where he earned a degree in Christian Elementary Education.
In 1987, Jim began teaching at Good Shepherd Lutheran School in West Bend, WI where he taught until he retired from teaching in 2008. He then went to work at The Nutman Company where he became a partner and vital component of the business.
Jim's passion was his faith in God which he enjoyed celebrating in music. He was kind hearted and very giving of his time to others. He loved being outdoors and taking photos of flowers. He also enjoyed playing word games.
He is survived by his brothers, Tim (Lisa) Raddatz of Mayer, MN, and David Raddatz of Goodyear, AZ; an aunt, Shirley Retzlaff of Olivia, MN; two uncles, Floyd (Marian) Retzlaff of Corvuso, MN, and Prof. Darvin (Marie) Raddatz of New Ulm, MN; many nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents; a sister, Mary Raddatz; two aunts, Elda (Eugene) Isaacs and Doris (John) Honzay; and three uncles, Melvin (Millie) Retzlaff, Harvey Retzlaff, and Norbert (Elvira) Raddatz.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 31 at 2:00 p.m. at Good Shepherd Ev. Lutheran Church, 777 Indiana Ave., West Bend, WI. Visitation will be at the church on Saturday from 12:00 Noon until the time of service. Jim's cremated remains will be interred in St. Matthew's Lutheran Cemetery in Danube, MN on Tuesday, June 3 at 5:00 p.m.
