James Robert Schneider

July 17, 1958 — July 28, 2009

James Robert Schneider, age 51, of Lomira, lost his courageous battle with Leukemia on Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at the Kathy Hospice surrounded by his loving family and friends.

Jim was born on July 17, 1958 in West Bend to Dr. Donald and Janice (Behnke) Schneider. He attended West Bend East High School and graduated in 1976. In 1980 he earned his B.A. in Business from the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire. Jim was united in marriage to the love of his life, Vicki Ann Peters, on October 31, 1992 at Trinity Lutheran Church in West Bend. Jim was a Production Supervisor for Federal Mogul and was currently serving as a board member for the Village of Lomira. He lived for Marquette Basketball and enjoyed sharing his passion with others by bringing them to the many games he would attend. He also loved all forms of auto racing, but his greatest joy in life was being a special father to 83 foster children.

Jim is survived by his loving wife, Vicki; and his special daughter, Colleen Ford of Lomira; his mother, Janice Bruskewitz of West Bend; three sisters, Kathy (Neil) Patrone of Spring Grove, IL, Carol (Rob) Perry of Brookfield, and Teresa (Mark) Arntz of Pewaukee; and two brothers, Jeff Schneider of Jim Falls, and Brian (Jackie) Schneider of Germantown. He is further survived by his parents-in-law, Richard and Adeline Peters of West Bend; a sister-in-law, Janet (Kevin) Sann of Wausau; a brother-in-law, John (Carla) Peters of Fond du Lac; special family friends, Bob and Janet Hesprich and their children, Zachary and Lindsay; and many other nieces nephews, close relatives and dear friends including a special group of friends that have been with Jim since grade school, high school, college, and on..

Jim was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Donald Schneider; and his step-father, Harry Bruskewitz.

A funeral service in celebration of Jim's life will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2009 at 2:00 pm at Trinity United Methodist Church (300 Church St. in Lomira). Rev. John Hobbins will officiate. Visitation will be held on Saturday at the church from 11:00 am until the time of service.

Vicki has asked that guests bring pictures and/or written personal stories of experiences that they have had with Jim. These items will be placed onto bulletin boards at the church during the visitation and will later go into a scrape book for his daughter Colleen so she can have many more wonderful memories of her father.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the 4 NT nurses and Doctor's at Froedert Memorial Hospital and to the entire staff of the Kathy Hospice for all of their care and support at a time when it was greatly needed.
